It speeds up our ability to investigate incidents that, without video evidence, may have been difficult to determine fault. The front-facing and driver compartment cameras provide high-definition video and sound that is a core part of our incident investigation process. The cameras in the student section of the bus help us investigate what happened when there (has been) a student or driver behavioral incident. In multiple situations no matter how the story is spun we have real data to protect our staff and students against accusations and behavior. We are able to target and address situations with proof before they escalate into larger issues. We have had several instances where we have been accused of a traffic violation or misconduct that led to a traffic accident. One comes to mind where a patron accused a driver of hitting her car by cutting her off at an intersection. The video proved that while the bus was making its turn the patron drove into our turn by running a stop sign, causing the tire to bump the front of the car.
